Oh goody! I just found this new online magazine RUE on a blog dress design decor. It has that Domino vibe. Thank goodness.

nude #936
This is Gretchen Kelly's yesterday's painting of the day. I love it. The colors are so beautiful.
She says: "The loose brush stroke wash in the background set the tone for the light hand that I continued with in executing this lovely feminine pose."
The painting is for sale and see more of G's work here.

light wood floors
I am attracted to light wood floors these days. Either a gray stain or pickled look is a good change from the honey colored or dark floors of late. Wide planks are a must. The whole feeling of this interior is warm and inviting. Love.

double L farm market
This is Lloyd of the Double L Farm Market in Westport Connecticut. I just discovered this treasure of a market and I am bananas for it. He carries the most delicious produce, salsa, guacamole, hummus, organic beef, the freshest sushi grade tuna, crusty bread, pies, granola and honey and yes the yummiest bananas. He is the nicest man and so is Michael. They put your groceries in a box and carry it out for you. They give your baby a Double L onesie. I love the simplicity of the shop..black and white and perfectly distressed. You must check it out if you are in the vicinity.

the runaway dinner
Just discovered this book for children. I am a sucker for clever illustrations. Most of the time I find the story is just as witty as the illustrations. I am happy to say this is the case with The Runaway Dinner. Find it here.

She is also opening JAM, Junior Art and Music in South Norwalk, Connecticut. Click here to check it out! In the meantime...get some goggles and jam on with Dre!

that nie nie
That Nie Nie. What a pillar of strength. She is my heroine. She is also an ENORMOUS inspiration to me and a zillion other readers of her blog Nie Nie Dialogues...a must see. Aren't these photos of Stephanie (Nie Nie) and her family just the best?!

intro to letters app
Just found this on Black Eiffel who found it on Swiss Miss. An app for children for your iphone or ipad from Montessorium LLC. It's called Intro to Letters. It's brilliant and very well designed. The description reads: Learn to trace, read, write and record letter sounds, names, and phonograms, based on the proven methodology of Montessori. Sounds good for our own 4 year old Montessorian, Everett who is showing big interest in letters and sounds these days. I will also check out the Intro to Math and keep you posted.

the ribbonerie
I would be in big trouble if I went into this shop in San Francisco called The Ribbonerie. I would try my hardest to limit myself to 3 rolls of the nice simple colorful ribbon you see above. I would use it around presents wrapped in craft paper...simple and always reminds me of "brown paper packages tied up with string.".
